Details to Configure Exchange Server 2003 on a Pre-Installed Windows SBS 2003 with ISA 2006

Summary:

to configure ISA 2006 to allow web access to exchange 2003

Requirements:

  • Real IP Address
  • Internet Connection
  • Internet Domain
  • Procedures:

    • installing exchange serevr 2003 and configure the connectors to send and recieve internet emails as follows:
      • the send connector must have address range of ‘*’ and the scope set to internet
      • to accept internet emails to our internet domain we should add it to the accepted domains and to the addresses policy
    • disable the forms based authentication method on the exchange virtal directory
    • create a web certificate to use with the server and export it to the ISA server
    • create a rule in the ISA serevr with the following configuration:
      • the internal name of the OWA website must be the full name of the exchange server
      • we need to put the server IP address or the full name of the server in the ‘Computer Name or IP Address’ field
      • we shuld use SSL protocol
      • we must configure a listener uses the SSL certificate we imported from the exchange server (the common name on the certificate must be exactly the same as the public name we want to use to access OWA)
